Establishing a Framework for Deep Thinking – DP Mavia
Deep Thinking is not complicated Thinking. Deep Thinking is a function of the Holy Spirit; it is activated and driven through various channels. Deep Thinking is finding a place under the tutelage of a searching Spirit. The Spirit of God is not a dormant Spirit, he is an active and dynamic Spirit and that is what the concept of his power (dunamis) means. The Dynamic nature of the Spirit is information driven and more so thought driven.
10 But God hath REVEALED them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit SEARCHETH all things, yea, theDEEP things of God.11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost TEACHETH; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
The Deep Introduced.
The Spirit will search the DEEP things of God. What are the DEEP things of God?These are things seeped deep in the thinking of God. How do these things begin to come out, they do so by REVELATION. There is the relational disclosure that comes from God that triggers the journey into DEEP THINKING. The Spirit is able to administer Revelation that it has sought in Gods Thoughts.
To SEARCH is to inquire and investigate – DEEP Thinking triggered by Revelation takes on a path of curious investigation. Nothing can be absorbed cognitively without inquiry and assaying ourselves to the pursuit of knowledge. If the Spirit searches then Deep Thinkers should also seek. Research should not undervalue the gathering of information to piece together a needed frame of understanding and a way of seeing and interpreting matter.
In the scripture the deep things the Spirit is searching allude to the things God is THINKING.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Some other versions (NIV) render it … no one knows the THOUGHTS of Man save the spirit in Him – and no one knows the THOUGHTS of God save the Spirit of God. If the things that the Spirit SEARCHES are DEEP and those things are THOUGHTS, then the DEPTHS of God are in His THINKING. It is therefore not uncanny to parallel Spirit, Thinking, Searching and Depth; I submit to you that the Depths of God can be found in the Revelation and search of the Thoughts of God. The framework of Deep Thinking takes on the journey of Revelation, Searching, Thinking. We have received not the spirit of the world but the Spirit of God that we may perceive and be sure and have a proper spiritual intelligent position on diverse things of Life.
The Tutelage of the Spirit
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost TEACHETH; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
The quest and journey to deep thinking requires enrollment into the school of the Spirit. He teaches, communicates, instructs and makes us learn spiritual things. His power begins and rests on what he knows. We are enjoined to him I his power as we are submitted to him in his teaching. Deep Thinking requires that we are TAUGHT and that we LEARN.
In Deep Thinking the Spirit teaches us by a method known as COMPARING (4793-SUGKRINO) – it means to judge one thing in connection with another. It is collating ideas (spiritual). The dominant idea is to JUDGE. This is a concept of thinking that demands exact Thinking. There is another term in the Greek known as DIAKRINO. Whereas SUGKRINO demands that you compare and collate your thinking against multiple ideas to have a position, DIAKRINO only needs cognitive comparison between two things. Both terms are notions of discernment, knowing and value. In fact after the tutelage of the Spirit you are required to be spiritual and judge yourself.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
Judging is the seamless appraisal of circumstances and people from a position of Deep Thinking. Another version of the same scripture says that – he that is spiritual knows the value of all things. Deep Thinking is value based thinking. The continuous schooling of this kind from the spirit is the building block(s) that the mind of Christ is set upon.
The Instructing Mind of Christ
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
When you learn how to judge and exercise your ability to discern the value of things then you Deep Thinking starts graduating into the level of INSTRUCTING. It comes from the concept of union but more so the union of driving together or teaching together. Instructing is collaborative coming together to vive up a CHRISTOS MIND. We graduate into the THINKING of God in Christ that sees all in all and that is driven by Love. Deep thinking needs this kind of collaboration that is value based and that can drive with the uniqueness of other Instructors. The first collaboration is with the Spirit then with those who have been tutored by Him. I could boldly derive a proper foundation of Think Tank Labs and Thought Leadership from the process that has been defined from the preceding paragraphs, where the ultimate is to Instruct. The Seeing Eye, the listening ear and the comprehending heart form an unbroken triad of a functional searchable Mind of Christ that churns out Deep Thinking. From Searching, to Thinking, to Learning, to Judging and to Instructing, these are some of the elements that unite to form a framework for Deep Thinking.
